My Style…

…When I Feel Like Having One!

– Too Fashionably Late

My style is many different things. Some days I look casual cute, and other days I look like I took 3 hours to get ready, but my signature look is “athleisure-chic,” as I like to call it. As I am a full time college student, who also works at an Aerie store, leggings and sweatshirts take up most of my wardrobe. I can leave class and go right to work wearing my comfy but cute lounge outfit. It’s the laid back, natural makeup look, with an occasional pop of color or patterned legging. I enjoy being comfortable on the daily, but also not looking like I just rolled out of bed.

On the other hand, I love to dress up and do a full face of makeup sometimes. I love dresses and skirts and high heels and cute jackets. I love glitter and anything pink or sparkly, so this is really my time to shine. This look definitely takes much more time to achieve and is saved for special occasions or a night out. This is when I take tons of pictures and selfies with my friends and usually make an appearance on the ‘gram.

Hardly ever do I wear anything business casual, so to me, my “nice” look is jeans and a blouse with booties. My go-to accessory is hoop earrings or a very simple necklace. I put effort into my look, but don’t go over the top. This is when I try to let my fashion sense really come out.

To achieve all of my looks, I mainly shop at Aerie and American Eagle since I get the amazing employee discount. I also shop at Urban Outfitters, South Moon Under, and Tilly’s for everyday looks, and Windsor or small boutiques for dresses and going out clothes. I also love Express and H&M for when I do need more business casual options. I don’t really have a set store or style that defines me, so you guess I could say I’m not really brand loyal to one specific store. I like to mix it up and wear what I’m in the mood to wear that day. To me, style is about being unique and being yourself, and wearing whatever you are happy and comfortable in.

Behind “Too Fashionably Late”

Hey there! My name is Casey and I’m a senior fashion merchandising management major at Philadelphia University (which is now called Jefferson). I’ve always been interested in fashion, and have watched runways, award shows, and TV shows for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite things was seeing celebrities in beautiful dresses on the Red Carpet. I myself enjoyed dressing up and styling outfits, which led to my many jobs in retail. I knew I wanted to go to school for fashion, because it was something I loved and could see myself doing as a career. My dream job is to be an entrepreneur and open my own boutique, but I also really enjoy interior decorating, and fashion journalism.

Which brings us here…

To be honest, I started this blog as an assignment for a fashion journalism class. I have always wanted to be a blogger but never really had the push to do so, and doubted my creativity. But here we are! Upon graduation in May, I am still deciding what I actually want to do for a career, but I do definitely want to keep this going, and who knows maybe one day I’ll be a real life fashion journalist. Vogue maybe??

Anyway, here is my story, and how Too Fashionably Late was born. (The perfect name because I am “fashionably late” to everything…and it’s a fashion blog) Enjoy! 🙂
